Below you will find the 'Hard Luck' comments that they turned into the club on our form:

Working and planning for weeks on end, To cruise to Branson in hopes to win.

We left really early with the sun at our backs, Man, oh man, we were making tracks!

The motor was purring and sounded great, 'Til we hit Marshfield, Missouri and then met our fate.

The truck started belching and missing at times, Thought the gas was bad, we were in a real bind.

We crippled into Springfield down Sunshine Street, Found an "O'Reilly's and stood on our feet.

Three hours later and 4 men all cussing, Changed points, 1 plug and rotors and still we were fussing.

On down the road a mile or two, We sputtered and coughed to find the next O'Reilly's crew.

We talked and talked to some good ole boys, Who said, "that's what happens with these kind of toys!"

But we will help you get back on the road, just give us a minute and you'll be at your show.

So they did as they promised and one condensor later, We were in Branson, Ye Haw! We're starved, let's get a tator!

We arrived at Ramada our key card was blank! We got in our room and boy did it stink!

We had to park our truck on the other side of the lot of course, couldn't see it and that didn't help a lot.

The next morning came, we jumped in our truck, Lo and behold the foot feed fell off! Ugh!

With great people here that came to our aid, We have enjoyed the show and so glad we stayed.

Thanks for letting us attend! You have all been so great and we feel we have made lots of new friends!

Mark & Kathy Boatright

Editors Comments
Cal and I left for Branson on Thursday to get things set up for the show on Friday.  Of course I was the one running behind, so Cal left before me.  I finished packing up my truck and went to leave and my mail lady actually was early, so I decided to check the mail instead of just putting it inside.  It's a good thing I did because there was a registration there from Mark and Kathy.  The date stamped on the envelope was June 29, which should have easily made it to my address by July 6th.  So, I ripped open the envelope, grabbed their check and registration and headed out the door.  Talk about luck?!  I guess this was "their" weekend, ya think?!
